Leveraging business model and HR expertise, David provides HR model insight to the MalinHughes team in service to the firm’s commitment to client value and excellence.

Most recently, David served as the Chief HR Officer for the Midwest region of Advocate Health with responsibility across Illinois and Wisconsin markets including 27 hospitals and 500 care locations with more than 70,000 employees. Leading a team of 350 HR professionals, David oversaw all HR operations and delivery, led post merger organization design, senior leadership selection and initiated the post merge culture transformation activity. Most notably, David created an agency taskforce while at Advocate that reduced contract labor by >$19M in 90 days with an annualized savings of more than 75M.

Prior to Advocate Health, David served in VP and SVP HR Strategy positions at Atrium Health leading HR model evolution as the system grew from 35K to 70K teammates from 2019-2022. He also led large-scale change management, serving on Atrium’s enterprise strategy council, risk management committee, and integration steering team.

Prior to Atrium Health, David was senior leader with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) global HR advisory practice – building CHROs and CEOs on innovative HR models, culture transformation and overall health and welfare. He also served as the firm’s US well-being consulting practice leader focused on leader and workforce agility and resilience.
