Robert Becker is an executive search partner and talent advisor with expertise across commercial banking, alternative investments, asset and wealth management, fintech, and private equity. He partners with industry-leading banks, investment managers, and capital markets firms to design long-term talent strategies and attract senior-level professionals who help organizations meet and exceed their strategic and growth objectives.
For the past decade, Robert has led the banking and financial services practice at MalinHughes, a Chicago-based executive search firm, while also overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations. In this role, he has advised clients on leadership hiring across investment, credit, risk, compliance, capital markets, and corporate functions, building trusted relationships with boards, executive teams, and human capital leaders.
Robert began his career as a Research and Business Development Analyst at a boutique investment bank before joining Michael Page International, where he became a leader on the firm’s Chicago banking recruitment team. He later joined BMO as part of the bank’s talent acquisition organization, spending three years leading hiring initiatives across Capital Markets, Corporate and Investment Banking, Finance, Investments, AML, Compliance, Risk and Governance, Model Risk Management, and executive leadership roles throughout the North America.
Active in the Chicago financial services community, Robert is a member of several industry networking groups and organizations. He has served as a panel speaker for the CFA, CPA, and CAMS. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Love Andrew, a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources and support to children with autism.
Robert earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the College of Charleston, with a concentration in Finance & Leadership, Change, and Social Responsibility.
